I have 100 's of home made artwork. Each other dressed up with the right shingles, siding, colours, stones, etc. preconfigured by the Builder, designer or architect.
Then comes the landscape architecture and that pretty much is left to me. It came to maine that homeowners benefit power of the approach I take.
I look Astatine the larger image. I break the landscaping into four groups. 1) Lawns 2) bushes/trees flowers 3) 4) backgrounds.
I know that if you're looking for landscapinggardenideas backgrounds are not applicable, so I just concentrate on the other three will.
1) Lawns – lawns are the basis for a landscape attractive and paved the way for making every thing else looks great.
2) Shrubs/flowers shrubs soften the environment around the House. I use lower or higher varieties depending on the space available while avoiding a crowded look & feel. I want to concentrate on the color of the flowers near the front door to draw the eye to the front entrance. Although I don't use many potted plants, they can be very nice if there is room and they scaley adapted to the area.
3) Trees – I like to use decorative tree as an accent and a transition from home to the shadow trees. They can be quite colorful in the spring time, but generally not ' show with color. I use them for they scale or size. In my renderings is the focus of the House.
I use quite often shade trees in the foreground. I think of them as the picture's frame. The shadows they cast help to the inviting atmosphere at the front of the home as well.
So there you have it. The idea is to take a step back and look Astatine the front of your House from the street or the sidewalk. Think about what would increase your House and not hide it over a period of time.
Oh, one more thing. Call the appropriate service in your environment before you dig. Make sure you know where your underground utility lines are
